CELOX™ granules are the first in a new generation of emergency haemostatic agents. They are simple to use and highly effective. CELOX granules quickly control even the most severe arterial bleeding. Just pour it in, pack it, and apply pressure. No specific training is required.
CELOX clots blood fast, works in hypothermic conditions and also clots blood containing heparin or warfarin. CELOX does not generate heat in use and won't burn. Celox is safe to use for the entire body including head, neck and chest wounds.
Importantly, CELOX can be used instantly and without hesitation as a fast, safe and simple emergency treatment for serious bleeding. For yourself or for others, on the job, on the battlefield, or in the home, CELOX is an easy, quick way to reduce blood loss and save lives.
And now the US Marines have tested CELOX and the results are great. CELOX was the only product to obtain 100% survival. There’s a link on the right hand side of this page where you can see the full abstract of the paper.

Avitene (Davol)

Avitene® Microfibrillar Collagen Hemostat (MCH) is used in surgical procedures as an adjunct to hemostasis when control of bleeding by ligature or conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.

  • Avitene flour in an easy-to-use preloaded applicator
  • 1 gram SyringeAviteneTM is ideal for use in trauma, oncology, general and cardiovascular surgery
  • 5mm SyringeAvitene is designed to apply Avitene Non-Woven Web to hard-to-reach areas. Apply as little, or as much, as needed to control bleeding.

Novo 7

NovoSeven was introduced in the United States in March 1999. It is the only recombinant factor VII product available for the treatment of bleeding episodes and prevention of surgical bleeding in patients with hemophilia A or B with inhibitors to FVIII or FIX and patients with FVII deficiency. FVII is one part of a chain of proteins in the blood that work together to promote clotting.
For people with FVII deficiency or hemophilia and inhibitors to FVIII or FIX, the goal is to resolve bleeding episodes quickly. For a bleed to resolve, a stable clot must be formed at the site of the bleed so that healing can begin.
So when the deficient factor in the blood-clotting process can be bypassed or replaced, and the process can continue, the clot formation is closer to being completed
Under the supervision of a doctor and in the comfort of home, patients can make every minute count when it comes to resolving a bleed quickly.

CYKLOKAPRON Tablets and Injection are indicated in patients with hemophilia for
short term use (two to eight days) to reduce or prevent hemorrhage and reduce the need
for replacement therapy during and following tooth extraction. Tranexamic acid is a competitive inhibitor of plasminogen activation, and at much higher concentrations, a noncompetitive inhibitor of plasmin, i.e., actions similar to aminocaproic acid. Tranexamic acid is about 10 times more potent in vitro than aminocaproic acid.

AMICAR (aminocaproic acid) is 6-aminohexanoic acid, which acts as an inhibitor of fibrinolysis . AMICAR is useful in enhancing hemostasis when fibrinolysis contributes to bleeding. In life-threatening situations, fresh whole blood transfusions, fibrinogen infusions, and other emergency measures may be required.

[Hemostatic Matrix] FLOSEAL is an effective hemostat that stops bleeding in 2 minutes or less (median time to hemostasis).

The SyvekPatch® is made of a naturally occurring polysaccharide polymer composed of highly purified poly-N-acetyl glucosamine free of proteins and contaminants. It is used
to promote rapid wound closure and cessation of bleeding in hemodialysis patients following needle removal. The SyvekPatch® significantly reduces the duration of compression required to achieve hemostasis in hemodialysis patients, thus reducing vascular access damage. Vascular access complications remain the single greatest cause of morbidity and account for approximately one third of all admissions and hospitalization days in the hemodialysis population.

is used adjunctively in surgical procedures to assist in the control of capillary, venous, and small arterial hemorrhage when ligation or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective. SURGICEL, SURGICEL Fibrillar Hemostats can be cut to size for use in endoscopic procedures.

FEIBA VH is an anti-inhibitor coagulant complex with factor VIII inhibitor bypassing activity that is indicated for control of spontaneous bleeding episodes or to cover surgical interventions in hemophilia A and hemophilia B patients with inhibitors. In addition, the use of FEIBA IMMUNO (AICC) has been described in a few non-hemophiliacs with acquired inhibitors to factors VIII, XI, and XII.

Cryo Cuff by Aircast® combines focal compression with cold to provide optimal control of swelling, edema, hematoma, hemarthrosis, and pain. Simplicity of design and ease of operation makes it ideal for the ER, post-op, training room and home.

TISSEEL consists of a two-component fibrin biomatrix that offers highly concentrated human fibrinogen to seal tissue and stop diffuse bleeding.

Iron Supplements

(there are many kinds of iron supplements but I found GNC’s to be the best kind )

There are 3 main kinds of iron supplements: Ferrous Sulphate, Ferrous Gluconate and Ferrous Fumerate. Similar to calcium supplements, when purchasing iron supplements, look for the elemental iron content, not the Total iron content. For instance, an iron supplement containing 200mg of ferrous sulfate provides 40 mg of elemental iron. Therefore, this iron supplement in this example provides 40mg of iron.

Is indicated as an aid to hemostasis whenever oozing blood and minor bleeding from capillaries and small venules is accessible. It is a biologically active hemostatic agent that works directly at the end of the blood coagulation cascade to clot the fibrinogen of the blood directly To see how Thrombin-JMI® works for bleeding control.

Nose Bleed
(Click Nose Bleed for more suggestions)

Is a powder bandage that stops bleeding instantly for minor external bleeding from wounds & procedures.

BloodSTOP™ hemostatic gauze is a revolutionary hypoallergenic treatment for hemostasis care, that is made from biologically inert natural regenerated cellulose. Whether for final treatment or temporary control, BloodSTOP™ safely and quickly stops bleeding.

QuikClot® brand hemostatic agent changed the world of hemostasis forever and brought the promise of saving the lives of untold accident and battlefield victims around the world who would otherwise bleed to death before reaching a surgical setting.

Absorbable gelatin powder and absorbable gelatin compressed sponge This product information is intended only for residents of the United States GELFOAM is a medical device intended for application to bleeding surfaces as a hemostatic. It is a water-insoluble, off-white, nonelastic, porous, pliable product prepared from purified pork Skin Gelatin USP Granules and Water for Injection, USP and is able to absorb and hold within its interstices, GELFOAM has hemostatic properties. While its mode of action is not fully understood, its effect appears to be more physical than the result of altering the blood clotting mechanism.
